Yudo Gaku Robert Yorga

Robert began formal zen practice in 2007 at Hokyoji with Joen Snyder O'Neal and Michael O'Neal of Compassionate Ocean Dharma Center in Minneapolis.

Curiosity about the gutsiness of Rinzai and the challenge of Rohatsu led him to Green Bay in 2009. That first Rohatsu was a turning point. Taking one's seat and realizing our angst is our liberation was so obvious and yet so foreign. The exquisite Mondo Zen process began the disassembling process and continued zazen and asana practice reconstructed a self based on simplicity and integrity.

At his second Rohatsu in 2010, he took Jukai. To bring these teachings to Minneapolis, he began Orchids & Bones in 2013 and was ordained a priest at Rohatsu in 2015.

He is a registered yoga teacher (YA/RYT-200HR) and a certified personal trainer (NASM-CPT). Having crafted an integral path for himself and as an expression of it, he started Zen Heart Life Coaching. He is married to Gina McKenzie and lives in Northeast Minneapolis.
